Sharapova and Kirilenko into semis

Russian Maria Sharapova advanced to the semifinals of the Masters 1000 series in Indian Wells (California) as the defeated Italian qualifier Sara Errani 7-6 (8-6), 6-2. Opponents Sharapova in the semi-finals will be compatriot Maria Kirilenko who previously defeated Czech's Petra Kvitova 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. In the other two quarter-finals meet: Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) - Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark) and Angelika Kerber (Germany) - Samantha Stosur (Australia).
